Nielsen Tennis Stadium (NTS) was donated to the University in 1968 by Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Nielsen, Sr. Ranked by the USTA as one of the finest tennis facilities in the country, more than 800 students, faculty and staff players use this facility on a weekly basis.

NTS features 12 indoor tennis courts and 6 squash racquet courts (including one doubles squash court). The stadium has shower and locker areas as well as upper-level seating for more than 1,500 people. The indoor courts plus 6 outdoor tennis courts are available on a reservation basis with priority given to students and faculty/staff. Fees are assessed to cover operational costs. Reservation Procedure
UW Students and Faculty/Staff may make reservations 3 days in advance, other students and spouses of UW Students/Faculty/Staff may make 2 day advance reservations.Call (608) 262-0410 after 7:45 a.m. to make reservations. Telephone reservations will alternate with reservations made in person. A subsequent reservation may not be made until the previous reservation has been played. A reservation will be held for 10 minutes past the scheduled start time, after that other players will be permitted to reserve the court. Players must check in at the reservation desk, present a UW-Madison ID, and pay court fees before playing. Faculty/Staff and UW-Madison Student Guest-auditors must also pay the Recreation Membership Fee.

Cancellations
Players must contact the stadium 2 hours in advance of their reservation if they need to cancel (608-262-0410). Failure to cancel will result in the patron being charged for the full court fee.

Early Bird Tennis
Reservations are recommended for Early Bird tennis play Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.

Campus Bus Service
The campus weekday bus schedule operates every 8 minutes between 6:20 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Week nights it runs every 20 minutes between 6:00 p.m. and 12:24 a.m. On weekends, service is every 40 minutes from 8:00 a.m. to 12:24 a.m. The recess/exam/summer schedule is every 9 minutes.

Fees
Regular and affiliate UW-Madison Faculty, Staff ad UW-Madison Student Guest-auditors must pay a Recreation Membership Fee to use any Recreational Sports facility. The fee includes access to the SERF, the Nat, and the Shell. Nielsen users must pay the Recreation Membership fee plus hourly court fees listed below.

Nielsen Tennis Stadium will normally be closed on the following holidays: Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve Day, New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, and the Fourth of July.
