Youth groups policy & procedure

  1. All groups must provide the Division of Recreational Sports a sample badge and picture ID so that we can identify them as a part of an UW program. Any youth that is participating in a bona fide UW program can purchase a $5.00 guest pass for access to Rec Sports Facilities. UW Summer programs in which the participants pay the segregated fee for access to Rec Sports Facilities need NOT pay the $5.00 guest pass.

  2. Any groups that have access to Rec Sports Facilities MUST be supervised at all times.

  3. Our ratio of kids to supervisors is a minimum of 10 kids per 1 supervisor. Prefer 2 supervisors. All kids MUST be supervised at all times. IN ORDER TO ENTER THE FACILITY, THERE MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 10 PARTICIPANTS TO 1 SUPERVISOR!

  4. While all Rec Sports Facilities can be accessed by these groups, please keep in mind of the following:

    • Pools are not for leisure use. They are only lap and exercise pools. Pools should not be used for rough play, splashing, water games, etc.

    • Exercise area usage (free weights, machines, cardio equipment) will be strictly monitored. Any individual under 16 years old can not use exercise areas. Absolutely NO HORSEPLAY in these rooms. There is a major safety issue and children not adhering to these policies will be removed from the facility.

    • Please do not interrupt structured activity. There are fitness, academic classes, and other programs that have reserved facility space.

    • Peak Hours for our facility use is during the lunch hour and also from approximately 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. We strongly urge camps to try to identify other times to utilize facilities do to high traffic.

    • All camp participants must adhere to all policies and procedures in all facilities.

  5. Rec Sports reserves the right to remove individuals from the facility for delinquent behavior. If we deem an action is unsafe or is not in line with Rec Sports policies, we will enforce them.
