The Intramural Sports program is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to serve in leadership roles while assisting in the administration of an expanding program. The opportunities below give UW students the opportunity to be involved in the behind-the-scenes aspects of the program. Each staff person will be challenged and given the chance to showcase their individual talents. These positions give you an opportunity to see your work in action with results.

The supervisor is the front line staff who also insures the safety of the participants of the program. They continuously interact with participants and sports officials while providing superior customer service. Supervisors serve as mentors to the officials while providing training and constructive feedback on a daily basis. Strong leadership skills are necessary to perform job duties. Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid is a condition of employment and required to provide care to injured participants. This position involves 5-10 hours per week for 12 weeks per semester with weekly staff meetings. Pay Rate: $8.55 per hour
Supervisor job description

The student coordinator provides support to the full-time Intramural Sports staff by holding daily office hours at the Nat. The student coordinators help with team sports, individual and dual sports as well as officials to include: scheduling, communication, preparation, execution and evaluation. They also assist with advertising, marketing, payroll functions and special projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point) is a must. Pay Rate: $9.00 per hour
Student Coordinator job description

The webmaster’s main responsibility is to maintain the content on the Intramural Sports and Club Sports websites and serve as an ambassador to the participants in the program. Routine e-mails through the Wisc List are created and sent by the webmaster. The webmaster also oversees some of the individual and dual sports such as tennis and racquetball as they are self-reporting. Demonstrated proficiency in Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Internet browsers and e-mail client is a must. A portfolio of website production is required for review. This position involves approximately 10-15 hours per week for the academic year. Pay Rate: $10 per hour

The Marketing Graphic Designer is a part-time, hourly position that provides computer-generated graphic design and photography support to the IM Sport program. Projects include: designing flyers and ads; taking photographs on site; creating bulletin board displays; maintaining resource file of photographs; creating newsletters, short brochures, and manuals; assisting with the design of special event materials; creating logos; and assisting with the production of other printed marketing materials. This position will also be responsible for IM Sports and Club Sports website content. This position will also work closely with the IM Sports Director, Office Assistants, and Webmaster. Qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency in Apple Macintosh computers, QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Adobe Acrobat Professional, InDesign, and email is necessary. Working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and Internet is a must. This position involves approximately 10-15 hours per week for the academic year. Pay Rate: $10 per hour, Work Study preferred.

A qualified candidate has a good understanding of the intramural sports program. They should also be detail-oriented, responsible, hard-working, honest, dependable, flexible and customer service-oriented. Candidates must be a team player willing to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with the ability to work independently. The opportunity to officiate or participate in any sport is highly encouraged. A staff shirt and name tag are provided and required to be worn while on duty.
