Features/Amenities

• 25 Yard, 8 Lane Racing Pool and Diving Well

The racing pool is 25 yards long and 8 lanes wide. The diving well is a separate pool that measures 50' x 40, equipped with one meter spring boards for recreational use. The diving well is also used for deep aqua fitness classes.

The Natatorium has a seating capacity for 1,500 and often hosts meets for the Wisconsin men's and women's swimming and diving teams. WIAA boys & girls swimming and diving meets are also held here.

• Multipurpose Gymnasiums

All four gyms are multi-purpose in nature and each features two regulation size basketball courts. Three volleyball and twelve badminton courts are available for play. In addition Gym 2 is equipped with a stage and sound system for floor aerobics programs. Intramural floor hockey, volleyball, and basketball games are played in these gyms.

RESERVATION POLICY

Court reservations for badminton and volleyball can be made up to 3 days in advance by stopping in the NAT Towel Room, or calling (608) 262-3790. Badminton reservations require the last 4 digits of your UW ID number. If a reservation is not secured 10 minutes after the hour, the reservation will be forfeited and available for reassignment.

• Racquetball Courts

Each of the five racquetball courts is available for recreational play. Racquets can be checked-out from the Towel Room at no cost. Court 6 is designated as a challenge court and can also be outfitted for Walleyball.

RESERVATION POLICY

A reservation may be made up to three days in advance by stopping in the NAT Towel Room, or calling (608) 262-3790. If a reservation is not secured 10 minutes after the hour, the reservation will be forfeited and available for reassignment.

• Weight Room

The Nat weight room features a wide variety of traditional weight machines and free weights as well as mats for stretching and an assortment of stability balls.

• Cardio Center

The cardio center offers a wide variety of exercise equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes and rowing machines. The cardio center also features five big screen televisions and mats for stretching.

Sign-up sheets are available for equipment so you are able to plan your workout efficiently without waiting for machines. There is a 30 minute limit for each machine (this includes warm-up and cool-down).

• Fitness Training Room

The fitness training room features stationary bicycles as well as Universal weight machines that each target a specific muscle group. A card system is also available to allow for tracking workouts.

• Group Cycle Room

Located in racquetball court 5, the cycling room is home to our Spinology group cycling class and features 20 bikes. Please see the Group Fitness homepage for more details on the different classes offered.

• Parcourse Fitness Circuit

The Parcourse Fitness Circuit begins on the west side of the NAT and encircles the far west fields. Eighteen stations are spread around the approximately 2.5 mile course.

• Lakeshore Running Path

The Lakeshore running path runs adjacent to beautiful Lake Mendota and connects the heart of campus with picturesque Picnic Point. The path is available for running, walking and biking and runs directly behind the NAT. For more information on the Lakeshore path system, please visit the Lakeshore Path webpage.
